What is Kerala Origins?
Kerala Origins is a movement for Kerala specialty coffee, connecting producers, roasters, brewers and buyers through practical support, shared learning and coffee showcases. It is a joint initiative founded on 25 June 2026. Read the founding story.
I farm a small plot. How can I participate?
Start by telling us where you farm, what coffee you grow and what you would like help with. We welcome enquiries from small farms and can discuss coffee evaluation, processing, roasting and sampling. We agree the next steps after learning about your coffee. Introduce your farm.
Can I send coffee samples?
Please contact the team before sending samples. Tell us the coffee type, harvest, process and approximate quantity available, if known. We can then discuss the sample quantity, delivery details and what kind of feedback would be useful.
Can roasters and buyers enquire about Kerala coffee?
Yes. Tell us whether you are looking for green or roasted coffee, preferred origins or processes, approximate volumes and delivery destination. We can discuss relevant producer connections and the information available for each lot. Availability, pricing and shipping need to be confirmed for the specific enquiry.
Can international buyers get in touch?
Yes. Introducing Kerala coffees to buyers beyond India is part of our mission. Share your business, destination and sourcing requirements so we can discuss possible connections and the practical next steps.
How can I attend a Kerala Origins showcase?
Our annual programme is built around Kochi and Kozhikode (Calicut), with two showcases each coffee harvest season. Kozhikode on 11 July 2026 and Kochi on 10 October 2026 are complete. New dates and participation details will be announced when confirmed.
What is Bermito Coffee Roasters’ role?
Bermito Coffee Roasters is part of the joint initiative behind Kerala Origins. Co-founder Vajid Kaitha Valappil brings roasting experience to the work of understanding and presenting Kerala coffees, alongside Ephrem Joseph of Terra Vagamon Conservancy, Moideen Kalladi of Silent Valley Estate and Nihal Parambath of On Ground Farm.
